Amazon Canada has found itself in the eye of a storm after it put up doormats featuring the Indian flag for sale. Selling of doormats designed as a National Flag is not illegal or offensive in European Countries . But India see the tricolor as the symbol of freedom from British rule and identify it as something for which many had sacrificed their lives. After publishing advertisement the comment section soon became the debate platform for Europeans and Indians and within a couple of hours it goes viral on social media. As per the reports of NDTV their is also a petition running on Change.org demanding amazon.com to take down the advertiswmnt and apologize.
In this regard Minister of External affairs Sushma Swaraj tweeted that Amazon must tender unconditional apology. They must withdraw all products insulting our national flag immediately:
In another tweet Smt Sushma Swaraj asked amazon to apologize otherwise Indian govt will not issue visa to any Amazon official ;
As we all know that Sushma Swaraj is an active member of parliament ,who many times won our heart by her immediate actions. Now its time to wait and watch that how Amazon.com will respond to Sushma Swaraj's tweet.
