Goa: A footbridge of Portuguese era located in Curchorem area over Sanvordem river of Goa has collapsed this evening and at least thirty people are reportedly missing.
Goa: A footbridge of Portuguese era located in Curchorem area over Sanvordem river of Goa has collapsed this evening and at least thirty people are reportedly missing.
The special rescue team and Navy has been called in for rescue operations and the Chief Minister Manohar Parikar is also tracking the situation.
" 9 Navy Divers with Geminis boats and associated equipment rushed to Curchorem, South Goa bridge collapse site for Search and Rescue operation," the Indian Navy tweeted a short while ago.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in his latest tweet mentioned that he has spoken to Goa Chief minister Manohar Parikar in this regard.
Spoke to Goa CM Shri @Manoharparikar regarding the bridge collapse on Sanvordem River. Search and rescue ops have been intensified.
