Kisan Baburao Hazare, Popularly Known as Anna Hazare was born 15june 1937, to parents Laxmibai and Baburao Hazare .He was awarded the Padma Bhushan-the third highest civilian award by the govt of India in 1992 for developing village Ralegan Siddhi (Taluka-Parner, Distt-Ahmednagar, Maharashtra) and establishing it as a model village. He is also padma shiri receiptent for year 1990 .He started his carrier as an Indian Army Driver but later involved as an Indian social activist and anarcho-pacifist who is specially recognized for his contribution towards his role in the evolution and establishment of Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI). Anna in early 2000's led a movement in maharashtra state forcing to paas a stronger maharashtra Right to Information Act, which was later considered the base document for the RTI Act enacted by the Union Govt. Fasting is a potent tool used by Anna in his fight for a cause.
In 2006 ,when Indian govt amended the RTI Act 2005 to exclude the file noting by the government officials from its pure view, he began his fast unto death in Alandi against the proposed amendment. He ended his fast only after the govt accepted his demand to reject the amendment.

• Request the people of my country to continue this kranti. People should continue to fight even if I am not there.
• The government's money is the people's money. Make effective policies for the benefit of the people.
• Lakhs of people sacrificed their lives for freedom but due to selfishness of some people we have not got the right freedom.
• Yesterday my Blood Pressure was down, but today it is back in controlbecause the strength of thenation is behind me.
