March 14
Waqar wani- Neither legislative member (MLA) nor Police has taken a serious note of Taxis charging passengers exorbitantly after National Highway collapsed due to Landslides at different places of Distt Ramban.
Ramban News Updates (powered by JKrepublics.com) has received many complaints in this regard from common people as well as those stranded.
From last one week Taxi drivers (Tampo &Sumo) are taking undue advantage of the situation arising out blocked  National Highway due to Landslides .
As there are no bus service available and passengers has no choice but to explore other modes of transportation to reach near Landslides then crossing landslides by foot and hiring another Taxi.

Tata Sumo and Taxi drivers consider this a Golden opportunity to fleece passengers. Taxi Drivers are said to charge 100% more fare price than actual fare price.
But the story doesn't ends here, Auto Riksaw Drivers  of Karol has also increased their fare price from Rs 10 to Rs 20 , The students of Govt Degree College Karol (Ramban) also suffered from sudden Hike in fare price. Some of them paid Rs 15 and Rs 20 while others preferred to go by foot as they have only 10 in their pocket.
On the other hand problem of overloading has emerged as a serious issue in Distt, as we all are aware by the fact that in February Distt Ramban witnessed  20 accidents(minor and major) and the reason behind these was found overloading and over speed. So,  it is the matter of great concern for authorities that overloading in such a worst condition can show a disastrous result.
