23 year old youth arrested by Kishtwar Police for blasphemy on WhatsApp in Kishtwar

Kishtwar May 11: Taking strong note of circulation of defamatory and morphed photograph of a Muslim religious place, Kishtwar police today booked 23 year old youth hailing from Chilli area of Doda District under relevant sections of law pertains to spreading Communal hatred and disharmony.
As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar police today register FIR. No. 77 of 2017 U/S 295-A, 153-A of RPC, 66-A/67 IT Act againt 23 year old youth identified as Mohammad Saleem Gujjar son of Noor Din Gujjar resident of Chilli Gundow who has posted a blesphemy photograph of Rooz-e-Attar (Resting place of Prophet Mohammad PBUH) in a WhatsApp group "Join Youth NC Inderwal" with an aim to create Communal Harmony.
When connected a senior said that the accuse was arrested by the police after hectic efforts added that the accuse spread the photograph with an aim to create Communal disharmony. He said that as soon as the accuse circulated the photograph in the group, there was hue and cry among peace loving people of Kishtwar District. He said that after collecting the necessary evidence, the FIR was registered at police station Kishtwar and the youth was later identified as Mohammad Saleem Gujjar. He said that police party led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani immediately swung into action and arrested the accuse who tried to escape after seeing the police party. He said that even some prominent citizens from Kishtwar also approach the police and lodged a complaint seeking action against guilty person. He said that the administrator of the WhatsApp group has also been identified and assured action against the group administratior under law.
