MLA Aijaz Khan holds public darbar at Thakrakote (Ramban)

Inaugurates BDO office, lays foundation of medical centre

REASI, MAY 23- To take stock of the grievances of people of rural areas, MLA Gool-Arnas Aijaz Ahmed Khan today conducted extensive tour of block Thakrakote and adjoining areas where he also held a public darbar.  

During the tour, the MLA was accompanied by Block Development Officer Thakrakote, Naib Tehsildar, engineers and officers and officials of various other departments. 

The MLA inaugurated BDO office at Thakrakote which would function in a renovated panchyat ghar. Besides, he also laid foundation of medical aid center which would be completed at an estimated cost of 60 lakhs. 

Later, MLA addressed large gathering at Thakrakote where people from adjoining areas apprised him about various problems faced by them.

While addressing, he took serious note of the pending payments under MGNREGA, incomplete buildings of education, shortage of staff in schools at Jhandi, Matah, Beri-gala, Dalhote, Thakrakote etc and emphasized on the punctuality and regularity of RET teachers in these far-flung areas. 

The MLA also showed his concern over poor performance in agriculture, horticulture, sheep, Animal Husbandry and other priority sectors as there is lackadaisical approach adopted by the officers in providing routine services to the poor people there. 

The major demands raised by the locals in the public darbar include smooth functioning of various offices at Thakrakote along with cent percent attendance by officers and officials in these offices and institutions. The locals also demanded Arnas-Kanota road via Thakrakote and Mari-Dakhikote road via Matah. 

The people also demanded electrification of left out hamlets on priority and proper vaccination of the live stocks.   

Deliberating in depth, the MLA passed instructions to the officers for early resolution of all major issues and public demands so that general public live comfortable life.   

Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz Khan said the government should come steadfast on commitments and promises made to people and should work on the agenda of good governance besides providing basic facilities to the people.

"The present government has to work to reduce the miseries of common man by effectively implementing various welfare schemes besides focusing development of neglected areas," the MLA added .
