Kashmir:- Yesterday a Cordon and Search operation (C&SO) was launched by security forces at a village in Kulgam area of Kashmir region where people protested and Army was forced to fire in the air to disperse the demonstrators. Later the Cordon and Search operation was called off by the security forces.
Today similar Cordon and search operation (C&SO) was launched by security forces in Shopian District of south Kashmir, where people hit the streets to break the Cordon and Search Operation, official sources said.
The Indian intelligence got reports about the presence of militants in the area and Cordon and Search operation was launched by security forces in Shopian District early this morning. Security forces condoned off village Sogan and a number of adjoining villages early this morning to conduct search operation.
However, Cordon and search operation doesn't goes well with people and hundred of people from neighbor village hit the streets raising slogans against security forces. In a while Police personal swung into action and stopped them at a distance .
The protesters pelted stones and security forces in return burst teargas shells and restored to lathi charge to prevent them from moving the areas which have been sealed. Massive clashes between security forces and demonstrators were on as villagers from other areas also joined them.
