Uttar Pradesh: Yesterday a Dalit man was killed in caste-clashes in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
According to reports, a fresh clashes broke out when a truck carrying Dalits back to their village from the rally spot was attacked, allegedly by Thakurs in the area. In clashes a Dalit man died and two were critically injured.
It is said that five additional troops of police forces have been rushed to the area of violence.
This was the fourth major incident of caste clashes in Sharanpur in the last three weeks.
On Sunday, thousands of Dalit rights activist, led by a western UP group called Bhim Army,gathered at Jantar Mantar Delhi, to protest against caste-based violance in Saharanpur. As per the reports more than 50,000 people participated in the protest despite bwing denied permission by the Delhi Police.
