Assignment of Dr Kabir Dar as the Managing Director of J&K HPMC hailed

Jammu: An extraordinary meeting of Kashmir Chapter of Indigenous Medicines Organization was held in Srinagar, in which the association hailed the decision of Government of Jammu & Kashmir to assign Dr Abdul Kabir Dar the charge of the post of Managing Director J&K Horticulture produce, Marketing and Processing  Corporation (J&K HPMC).  The Horticulture Department and Directorate of Indian Systems of Medicine (AYUSH) are interlinked through Medicinal Plants sector with the implementing agency for Cultivation, processing and Marketing of Medicinal Plants being department of Horticulture J&K.
The component of Medicinal Plants sector is funded by Ministry of AYUSH Govt. of India under the scheme of National AYUSH Mission which is implemented by Directorate of ISM (AYUSH) J&K. Dr Abdul Kabir Dar is one among the five distinguished alumni of Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University, New Delhi) who was recently conferred the prestigious title by the University at New Delhi. He has a vast administrative and professional experience and has worked in different capacities and has represented the state and the country in important foras like SAARC, BIMSTIC.

He has diverse experience in Medicinal Plants Sector and has worked Chief Executive Officer of J&K State Medicinal Plants Board. The Organization expects that the processing and Marketing of Medicinal plants which is the backbone of AYUSH manufacturing industry, will be initiated without which the cultivation of Medicinal Plants is not  taking pace. The Organization expects that Urban /rural Mandis of medicinal plants will be established with processing units in both the Divisions so that the Medicinal Plants sector is promoted as an industry in the State. The interlinking of Horticulture and Department of ISM will go a long way to promote the horticulture sector which is the backbone of J&Ks economy.

Interlinking AYUSH with horticulture, herbal tourism and forestry is expected to bring state on global map as herbal state and will also generate employment and entrepreneurship.

The Association on behalf of all the employees thanks Hon'ble Chief Minister of J&K State for taking decision which will have long lasting results to uplift the economy of the State. The Association also thanks Hon'ble Minister for Health & Medical Education Sh Bali Bhagat and Hon'ble Minister for Horticulture Jenab Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari, worthy Chief Secretary Shri. B.B Vyas for this decision.

The Association also Congratulates Dr Ab Kabir Dar Secretary (technical) Health & Medical  education and hopes that under his leadership the Horticulture Marketing Produce Corporation which has failed to deliver so far, will become a viable and productive corporation by creating assets for not only its self sustenance and will generate employment in the state.
