JAMMU: Body of Malkeet Singh, son of Kulwant Singh of Bhour Camp, Chatha Farm who lost his life in a tragic road accident in Sydney will arrive tomorrow in Jammu today after the intervention of MoS PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh.
During the time of accident, Dr. Jitendra Singh was on north-east tour still as soon as he got to know about the mishap through a group of people from Malkeet's family who had approached his office for help, he immediatedly took up this matter to External Affairs Ministry.
Follwoing which, Dr. Jitendra Singh alongwith EAM Sushma Swaraj got all the clearances thus providing all monetary help required for bringing the body back home.
Two youth from Jammu met with a road accident at Sydney in Australia earlier this week which resulted into on the spot death of one of them and critical injuries to the other.
The deceased was identified Malkeet Singh while his friend Navneet Singh, son of Dalbir Singh, also a resident of Chatha Farm, was reported to be fighting for his life with critical injuries. Malkeet Singh had left India only two months back to study Business Management in Alphacrucis College, Sydney Australia.
Reports said that the accident took place when the Sedan car, they were traveling in, hit a power pole at Carrington Road, Londonerry, in Sydney's north-west. Malkeet Singh, who was sitting in the back seat, reportedly died on the spot while his friend Navneet Singh, who was in front seat, sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Driver of the car, who was also a youth and a local friend of the victims, escaped serious injuries. However, he was also taken to Hospital as a precaution and mandatory testing.
