Opinion/ Muslims in Myanmar are being mercilessly slaughtered unbelievably by the monks, priests and the so called followers of Lord Buddha.Lord Buddha must be ashamed of all these dastardly acts and action of his disciples. If alive he would have definitely disowned all those responsible for the commission of these grave crimes against these helpless people.
Aung San Suu Kyi the Nobel prize winner & duly elected first counsellor of the Myanmar (…that is equivalent to the post of a Prime Minster elsewhere) until recently was maintaining a complete silence over this issue. But suddenly she threw a surprise that the situation in the Rakhin state of Myanmar is akin to the situation prevalent in the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. One wonders in what context is it similar to Kashmir? She did not explain or elaborate. However it is quite interesting to note that this statement was made by her immediately after her meeting with Narinder Modi.
Kashmir no doubt has turned into a hell for more than three decades now but the two situations are entirely different and not comparable at all. As here people are running a secession movement and thousands of people have lost their lives on either side of the conflict.
While as the Muslims in Myanmar simply want to live in peace and harmony with other fellow countrymen though of a different faith and ideology. But in return they are being unilaterally persecuted and killed.
What is the most shocking thing about all this is that the regular army over there is openly supporting and backing all those indulging in this kind of mad violence and there is no one around to reign in or stop these anti social elements from killing these innocent children, women, boys, girls, young and as well as old rather whosoever comes in their way.
World community in general and Muslim countries in particular except Turkey are maintaining a criminal silence over this and doing nothing whatsoever to hold Myanmar government accountable for its failure to maintain even a semblance of law and order in the country.
President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan however has gone out of his way to reach out to the victims of this mindless violence despite the fact it is already over burdened because of countless Syrian refugees. He has even gone to the extent of keeping his armed forces ready in case any direct intervention is required to rescue the Muslim community living in Myanmar. Who have been subjected to worst kind of terror and violence by the state itself similar to the one that was faced by the Jews at the hands of Nazis during the course of world war-II.
The basic problem with Rohingya Muslims is that the Myanmar does not recognize them as natives of that place. But they say that they have migrated to that place during the British colonial rule between 1823-1948 from India and are Bengalis by origin. They have been officially denied citizenship rights by an enactment passed by the Myanmar government way back in the year 1982 and have been rendered stateless.
Therefore if Aung San Suu Kyi has said that the government is bound to protect all its citizens she has clearly declined to take any responsibility for the protection of life and safety of Rohingya Muslims as they do not recognize them as citizens of Myanmar at all.
