In the wee hours of Friday morning, a few leaked pictures of Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan's late-night rendezvous in NYC created a nation-wide stir and also sparked rumours of an alleged relationship between the two, with many slamming the actress for her backless dress and smoking with Ranbir.
However, many from the film industry like Parineeti Chopra, Varun Dhawan and Ali Zafar jumped to Mahira's defense. According to latest reports, the 'Jagga Jasoos' actor has released an official statement saying that he has known Mahira over the last few months and he admires and respects her for her achievements, and even more for the person she is.
He asserted that the way she is being judged and spoken about is very unfair. According to Kapoor, the inequality in judgment just because she is a woman is sad.
He reportedly requested everyone to stop the negativity and spread peace and love. Ranbir signed off by adding that both smoking and hate are injurious to health.
