RAMBAN, Jan 31: A person killed and other two injured when a load carrier they were travelling skidded off the road and fall into river Chenab at Maitra Ramban, this evening. On getting information volunteer from Civil QRT reached on spot and started rescue operation. According to the police the load carrier was unloading the waste material when the mishap occurred. The deceased has been identified as Sonaullah son of Abdul Qayoom resident of Balhote Maitra Ramban age about 40, whereas injured has been identified as Ashok Kumar son of Bansi Lal age 22 yrs and Shafi son of Abdullah Sheikh resident of Balhote age 32. All the persons shifted to District Hospital Ramban from where the injured persons have been referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu for further treatment. Locals said due to unavailability of mini ambulance sometime its very time consuming to shift the injured persons to the hospital as the old Jullah bridge which is easily approachable to the hospital declared unsafe for heavy vehicles. They demanded a mini ambulance for the District Hospital so that the injured persons would be shifted at earliest for treatment. Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban Neelam Kumar Langeh visited the DH Ramban to enquire about the health condition of injured persons in accident. MLA announced a mini ambulance for the District Hospital Ramban from his CDF Fund. He expressed grief over the death of a person in the said accident and conveyed his sympathies to the families who lost their family member. A case has been registered in this regard under FIR No. 20 of 2018 u/s 279, 2337, 304-A RPC in Police Station Ramban and investigation is on. The dead body of the deceased person was handed over to the family for last rites after legal formalities.
